The optics and Vision Centre
/BOUCLE_traductions>
4 university centres are home to 10 universities, Grandes Ecoles and research centres accounting for 30 laboratories and 1,500 researchers and doctoral/post-doctoral students.
Created in 1996, the Optics and Vision centre – a unique meeting point for all players in the industry – saw the creation of a site devoted to the work of research, training and production in order to develop existing potential and new industrial activities.
7 research and technology exchange platforms, working for the benefit of the industry :
- High-pressure aspherical surfaces
- diffracting optical elements
- graded-index optical components
- 3D micro-vision
- optical treatments using thin-layer sol-gel deposits
- femtosecond laser and applications
- industrial vision and active vision
Scientific presentation, assistance with the creation of industrial research projects,
mobilisation of involved industry players, co-ordination, follow-up of development programmes
conduits to different technology platforms.
Higher Education
- SUP’OPTIQUE : the Saint-Etienne branch of the Ecole Supérieure d’Optique
- UNIVERSITE JEAN MONNET
- ISTASE : Saint-Etienne Higher Institute for Advanced Techniques,
- Professional degrees, masters and doctoral qualifications
The High-Technology Building
A tool which complements the scientific and technical facilities of the Optics and Vision centre, the High-Technology Building in Saint-Etienne, at the heart of the conurbation, provides ideal sitting and development facilities for organisations with projects.
Specialised, flexible services
Offices: 1000m2 of office space, divisible into units of between 11m2 and 18.5m2.
Equipped with standard furniture and air conditioning, they can be isolated units or linked to a particular workshop and access to ultra-high-speed broadband.
Workshops :
These have very high ceilings (6 metres), and are standalone, identified facilities.
1,800m2 of workshop space, including 1,200m2 ready for conversion for “white room”-type heavy equipment is available.
The workshop is divisible according to requirements and specifications.
Shared services: telephone, reprographics, fax, etc., meeting rooms, videoconferencing.
Meeting and communal areas: The “patio” provides natural light and ventilation to each office and workshop.
